On Tuesday Night, the Reading Rangers traveled to South Bend IN to play a warm up game for Friday’s Div IV District play.  The Rangers traveled the 92 miles to play a very good Niles Brandywine team who was warming up to play in the Div III districts.  The event was a great experience for the Rangers.  The team arrived on campus and we were impressed by the beauty(even through the construction and expansion taking place) and history…you could almost hear “wake up the echoes” as you envisioned Rudy running by the lake!

The stadium was a thrill to play in as the facilities are second to none. It was great to see the boys(and coaches) smiling as they played catch and took infield.  The game was highlighted by strong pitching performances from Cole Boyd, Dakota Shay, Corbin Hoover and Elijah Strine as they prepare for Friday.  The Rangers were led offensively by Ben Affholter, Carter McKibbin, Cole Pish and Cole Boyd each driving solid base hits throughout the evening.   We finished the event by walking through campus observing the Basilica, the Grotto, “Touchdown Jesus” and the Golden Dome.  A big thanks to Coach Hubbard for arranging the trip and for the parents and fans that made the 100 minute trip to support the Rangers.  Go RANGERS!
See you Friday at 11:30 in Tekonsha for opening Round of Districts!
