Girls Junior Varsity Softball, Girls Varsity Softball · Rangers Drop Two to Homer

The Lady Rangers had a chance to propel themselves to the top of the Big 8 standings but could not hang on against a very tough Homer squad. In both games, Reading was within one run late but Homer was able to pull away with some big innings. The first game ended 15-6, and was highlighted by a 4 run fourth inning that gave Reading a 6-4 lead. The Lady Rangers did not record another hit the entire game and the Homer pitcher did a nice job of keeping hitters off balance. Tayler Coe was 1 for 2 with two walks. Karissa Shay had an RBI double. Kayleigh Schaffer delivered with a two RBI single. Lauren McCoy was 2 for 3 with two singles.
The Lady Rangers again jumped out to an early lead in the second game, 5-2, but again struggled to hit down the stretch and had a tough 7 run 6th inning. The final score was 14-6 and dropped the Lady Rangers to 3-3 in the Big 8 Conference.
The Lady Rangers are back in action again on Thursday against Camden at Home. Please come out and support our Rangers!
