Four of the Rangers competed at the MHSAA state finals yesterday in Hudsonville. Although the team came up short of a few goals, it was a fantastic day overall. In many ways the final performances of several athletes represented the culmination of a season filled with hard work and focus. Alex Price finished his junior season with two all-state performances in the 110 meter and 300 meter hurdles, David Bignell capped off his sophomore season with a runner-up performance in the 800 meter run, Tyler Whinnie represented RHS in the 100 meter dash, and Ethan LoPresto represented RHS in the 200 meter dash. All four of these student athletes combined to represent Reading in the 4×100 and 4×400 relays. The 4×100 meter relay finished fourth overall in a very competitive field with a season best time of 44.45! The performances of these four athletes earned them a 12 place finish overall as a team. While the season did not end the way that we had hoped, the Reading Boys Track and Field team has a ton to look forward to. Over the course of the last two seasons members of the team have placed runner-up in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, and 800 meter run. Additionally, the boys have had a 6th place runner in both the 110 meter and 300 meter hurdles and the 4×100 relay has placed 3rd (2017) and 4th (2018). The great news is that we will be returning all of these athletes as well as many others expected to contribute in a big way!
