Rangers News · Rangers Win Big on the Road

Reading 50  Concord 0
The Rangers took their show on the road for the first time in week 3 and did not disappoint the fans scoring early and often defeating Concord 50-0.  What was supposed to be a battle between 2 unbeaten teams turned one-sided quickly as the Ranger defense was stifling and the offense was clicking on all cylinders.
The offense played pick your poison as QB Alex Price passed only 6 times but completed 5 of them to four different receivers for 131 yards and handed the ball off to 10 different ball carriers for a whopping 480 yards and a 50-0 half-time lead.  Ethan LoPresto carried the ball 11 times for 183 yards and 4 TD’s.  David Bignell had just 3 carries but ran for 92 yards including a 70 yard touchdown scamper.  Anthony Willoughby added 57 yards a touchdown and two 2-pt conversions.  Ben Affholter added two 2-pt conversion pass receptions.  The road graders up front were dominant once again all night.
The Landsharks had a feeding frenzy, eleven different times they had tackles for a loss.  Defensive tackles Nick Affholter and Elijah Strine played like a pair of hungry great whites.  Nick had 5 tackles for a loss including 2 sacks and Elijah had 3 tackles for loss and a sack. Ben Affholter led the defense with 11 tackles, defensive backs Cole Boyd and David Bignell each had 4 tackles and an interception, with David returning his 48 yards for a touchdown.
The Rangers travel next week for the BELL game with arch-rival Quincy.  The Orioles are 2-0 in the conference and play very good defense and hide the ball exceptionally well in their wing-t offense.  Come support your Rangers.
