Reading’s Varsity and Middle School Boy’s and Girl’s Cross-Country teams competed at the Mendon Invitational this past Saturday afternoon. In the varsity girl’s race Maggie Steele earned a medal after taking 22nd place with a new PR of 23:48. Also recording PRs on the girl’s side were Luna Vallarelli (26:16) and Pauline Cabrera (26:57), while Kayla Wohlheter recorded an SPR in her race (29:50). On the boys’ side, Christian Reichhart recorded an SPR of 22:45. In the middle school girl’s race Alexis Bryan, Jaycee Keegan, Rosie Cabrera, and Abbey Wholheter recorded PRs while Lilly Hovis recorded a new SPR. Additionally, Bryan received a medal after taking 15th place. Two of the seven middle school boys placed in the top 20 in their race; Jesse Cabrera took 5thand Kutter Vanaken took 18th. Cabrera and 6th grader Cole Bates recorded PRs, while Vanaken recorded an SPR. The Rangers return to competition next Saturday at the Pittsford Invitational. Freshman run at 10am, Sophomores at 10:35am, Juniors at 11:10am, Seniors at 11:45am, and Middle School at 12:20pm. Awards will follow at 1:00pm. Hope to see you there!
