The Reading Boys Varsity Basketball team traveled to Camden to take on the Redskins on December 19th.
The Redskins would jump out to a 10-5 lead midway through the 1st quarter. The Rangers would battle back with the help of some impressive outside shooting from Tyler Whinnie and Nick Affholter. Another 3 point make by Dawson Santure would give the Rangers a 20-13 advantage at the end of the period.
The Rangers would struggle with foul trouble and on both ends of the floor in the 2nd quarter. The team would find itself trailing 34-25 at the half.
The Rangers made played a strong 3rd quarter as balanced scoring from the the entire team and improved defensive effort would see the Rangers cut the lead to just 3 points. A Redskin basket at the end of the period had the Rangers trailing 42-37 heading into the final period of play.
The Rangers would cut into the Redskin lead twice in the final period with the help of scores from Whinnie and Alex Price. The team could not get over the hump and lost by a final score of 57-45.
The Rangers were led by Tyler Whinnie with 19 points. Nick Affholter added 10 points and Ben Affholter dished out 8 assists.
