12/22/18: The Reading Varsity Wrestlers traveled to Grass Lake on Friday, December 21st for the Grass Lake Warrior Team Invitational. The Rangers took 2nd place at the tournament winning three duals on the day beating Blissfield, Concord, and Grass Lake while taking a loss to Chelsea. Reading opened the day against Big 8 rival Concord, winning 9 of the 14 matches to bring the final team score 54-30. The Rangers then wrestled the Blissfield Royals. The Rangers were able to secure the lead at the beginning of the dual. The Royals made a comeback, but it was not enough, and Reading won the dual 42-27. The Rangers than battled the Chelsea bulldogs winning only 3 of the 14 matches and earning 18 points to Chelsea’s 60. In the last competition of the day, the Rangers wrestled the Grass Lake Warriors and won the match 39-30. Reading wrestler Dalton Green (103) went 4-0 on the day while both Kyle Hammill (103) and Andrew Rhoades (189) both won 3 matches. The Ranger wrestlers will be back in action on Wednesday, January 2nd to take on the Fremont eagles in Fremont, IN.
