The JV boys hosted the Quincy Orioles Tuesday night, and came away with 53-45 victory. Quincy jumped out to a big lead early, and the Rangers had to fight back. Down by as much as 12, Reading was able to cut the deficit to 9 at the half. The 2nd half would be all Rangers though, as they were able to ramp up their intensity and shut down the Oriole offense. Reading tied the game up just before the end of the 3rd quarter, and continued their dominating play in the 4th quarter to come away with the 8 point victory.
Reading got contributions from everyone as 9 different Rangers got into the scoring column. Gabe Rife led the Rangers with 18 points. Eli Irelan added 11. And Brogan Wiler came away with 9. The Rangers showed a lot of fight, and once again showed their resilience as a team in route to overcoming a half time deficit.
The win improves the Rangers to 12-2 overall, and 8-1 in Big 8 play. Reading next battles Thursday, February 07 at home against Union City. The JV girls will kick things off at 5:30 with the JV boys to follow. Please come support the Rangers.
