Reading’s varsity and middle school boy’s and girl’s cross-country teams competed at the Homer Invitational earlier this afternoon. Medaling for the Ranger ladies were Maggie Steele (23:11) who took 15th place and Emily Marquart (23:58) who took 22nd place. Emily earned an SPR in her race while Maggie and Brooke Seals (26:16) earned PRs. On the boy’s side, both Tyler Bays and Braeden Westfall earned medals and new PRs. Tyler placed 6th with a time of 18:48 followed by Braeden who took 22nd with a time of 20:19. In their debut race, the middle school girls team had a strong showing taking 7th place. Kutter VanAken was the lone Ranger who medaled in the middle school races taking 8th place with a time of 13:35. The Rangers return to competition this Tuesday at the Leslie Invitational. 6th Graders run at 4pm, varsity girls at 4:30pm, middle school girls at 5:15pm, middle school boys at 5:45pm, and varsity boys at 6:15pm.
