Reading’s varsity and middle school cross-country teams ran in their third league meet of the season with Jamboree #3 held at Reading’s home course at Kimball Camp earlier this evening. Placing in the top 20 on the varsity girls’ side was Maggie Steele who took 7th place with a new PR of 22:43. On the varsity boys’ side Braeden Westfall earned a new PR running a 19:59 and beating his PR from this past Saturday by .33 seconds! In the middle school girl’s race, Abby Spencer took 16th place with a new PR of 15:02. Also earning a new PR were DeLanie Youngs (17:00) and Dalilah McKimmy (18:01) while Ariana Norman ran a new SPR of 16:22. In the middle school boy’s race, Kutter VanAken took 19th place with a time of 13:23 while fellow Ranger Brayden Wright earned a new PR after running a 14:27. Also, congratulations to Reading’s seniors, Emily Marquart and Brooke Seals, who were honored before the races began tonight. The Rangers return to competition in the fourth and final Jamboree of the season at Homer High School next Tuesday, October 15th. Varsity girls run at 5:00pm, boys at 5:30pm, and middle school at 6:00pm. The league awards will follow the middle school race! Hope to see you there!
