Rangers News · Ranger Wrestling Split with Bronson and Concord

In the 3rd league meet of the year, Reading’s varsity wrestling team took on the Concord Yellowjackets and Bronson Vikings at Concord High School.  Reading opened the night against the Yellowjackets.  The match started at 152 pounds with an exciting match that went back and forth and at its end saw Reading put the first points of the dual on the board as Jacob Lemmon recorded a 15-14 decision.  The Rangers continued to push past Concord winning 10 of the remaining bouts and bringing the final team score to 63-17 in favor of Reading. Winning for the Rangers against the Concord were Jacob Lemmon (152), Ted Ankney (171), Andrew Rhoades (189), Elijah Strine (215), Josh Johnson (285), Hunter Dewey (103), Dalton Green (112), Randy LoPresto (119), Lucas Selph (125), Addison Mosley (130), and Brysen Schaffer (145).  After a dominating win against Concord, the Rangers were ready to take on the Vikings of Bronson.  The dual began at 160 pounds and while the team score went back and forth, the Vikings eventually found their way to the top winning 43-33.  Winning for the Rangers were Ted Ankney (171), Eathan Westfall (215), Josh Johnson (285), Hunter Dewey (103), Dalton Green (112), and Lukas Selph (130).  The Rangers are now 4-1 in league action.  Come see the team wrestle Springport and Union City at the final league meet of the year next Wednesday, January 29th at Quincy High School at 6pm.
