Rangers News · Ranger Wrestling vs. Columbia Central/Climax Scotts

2/21/21: The Reading Ranger Varsity Wrestling team traveled to Homer High School this past Saturday for a quad meet with Columbia Central, Climax Scotts/Martin, and Homer.  The Rangers took on the Golden Eagles of Columbia Central in the first dual of the day and secured a solid 51-9 victory only dropping two bouts.  Next the Rangers took on and took out Climax Scotts/Martin!  The Rangers took a quick lead of 30-6 after the first six bouts.  Although Climax Scotts/Martin would win a total of four matches it wasn’t enough, and the Rangers secured a 54-24 victory.  In the final dual of the day the Rangers suffered a tough defeat by the Homer Trojans.  While the Rangers won six of the fourteen matches, it was not enough to ward off the Trojans on their way to a 48-36 victory.  Hunter Dewey (130), Lukas Selph (140), Dominic Pitts (171), Andrew Rhoades (215), and Eathan Westfall (285) all went 3-0 on the day.  Westfall secured Reading’s fastest fall of the day with an 0:36 second pin of Climax Scotts/Martin’s Max Bleeker.  The Rangers will be back in action this Wednesday, February 24th at Quincy High School vs. Quincy.  The match will begin at 6pm.
